Day 340 - Sick Julie & Julia

Day 340.

I almost did it. I almost went the entire year without getting sick and having to watch Julie & Julia in my time of sickness. In fact, one could very easily argue that watching Julie & Julia IS my sickness.

One could also argue Julie Powell's sickness is "being terrible"

But I must digress. I've been nursing a nasty cold this past (midterm) week and I've finally succumbed to its wills on this Friday night. And I've spent the past few hours lying in bed, drinking hot duck soup and yes--watching Julie & Julia.

So what if I'm too cheap to buy actual Dayquil/Nyquil? I blame dilapidated blog funds.

Only half of these are covered in semen.

You'd think that Julie & Julia would be something of a "comfort food" at this point--a part of my routine that I need in order to distract myself from how shitty I feel. On the contrary, I feel much shittier when I watch this movie while sick in bed. So I guess I just solved that riddle. Julie & Julia is a terrible watch-while-sick-in-bed movie. All that delicious-looking food on screen? Usually great. But when you're sick and you get hungry, you realize you can't taste a thing because of your clogged-up nose. On the upside, blowing my nose during the movie really did muffle the sound of Julie's voice.

I'm going to go sleep forever/gouge my eyes out now.
