Day 293 - Watching Julie & Julia While Sleeping

Day 293.

So I fell asleep while watching Julie & Julia today. Or I think I did. I mean, I remember watching Julie Powell stir her chocolate creme pie filling, then I remember Julia's hat-making lessons, then I remember... well, then I remember everything else about the movie. But then I also remember resting my eyes and opening them up 2 hours later.

I definitely remember watching the movie though. Or was that me just remembering yesterday's viewing? Or viewings #1-291? I don't know. Probably. Whatever, I'm counting it. And allow me to explain why.

Even when I was asleep (assuming that I was actually asleep), Julie & Julia was definitely being piped into my head the entire time. And it wasn't like one of those scenarios where you fall asleep while listening to the music and you hear the music in your dreams à la Inception. No, it was more like my dream was me watching Julie & Julia. Which is what I was doing in the first place.

I'm having difficulty articulating the experience, but it was almost like it didn't matter whether or not my eyes were closed. Or whether or not I was in a conscious state. None of it mattered--I was still watching Julie & Julia

So basically, I learned today that I can literally watch this movie in my sleep. So uhhh, yeah.

  1. That's a pretty awesome super-power, right there :) Just imagine if you could watch all the movies on your 'to watch' list in your sleep, you could save so much time! of course... you'd have to watch them 300 times first... so that wouldn't really work out that well... oh well :)
