Day 219 - Julie & Julia Typography

Day 219.

So my talented work colleague/buddy, Theo Olesen, also has a blog--and its fucking awesome (and actually, fairly relevant to how I feel about Julie & Julia). It's called Beautiful Swear Words and it features some brilliant original typography, written out in... well... beautiful swear words. Check it out here.

Theo was nice enough to take 5 minutes and do a little original typography for Julie & Julia, seen below.

Really nice stuff, right? And he whipped these out in mere minutes! Talented kid, that Theo. Anyways, never one to be outdone, I too, tried my hand at this "typography" business.

Not too shabby, right? Quantity over quality--that's my motto. And trust me, I've got multiple notebooks chock full of this stuff.

  1. ooh awesome! I love hand drawn type! I have to say, I recently watched Julie and Julia for the first time the other day, and I'll probably never watch it again. You're crazy for doing this!! But you've also made me laugh a lot, so thanks :)

  3. Shouldn't that read, "All work and no movie watching makes Lawrence a dull boy."

  4. You hand type looks like one of an obsessed serial killer... This movie is really getting to you.

  5. This is really cool! On a side note, the teaser trailer for The Iron Lady, starring none other than Meryl Streep, was just released. She's playing the British prime minister Margaret Thatcher and I think you definitely need a post about it relating to Julie & Julia in some crazy way. Just a suggestion :)
