Day 5 - Julie y Julio

Day 5.

A two-hour run length for any movie is usually pushing it, Julie & Julia included. That's why I decided to pass the time during today's viewing by trying to imagine what this movie would be like in Spanish. Then, because I don't know any Spanish, I settled on imagining what this movie would be like if Meryl Streep/Julia Child was replaced by some Mexican dude named Julio. Ladies & gentlemen, I give you: Julie y Julio.

Julie Powell: So I'll cook my way through the Julia Child cookbook and write a blog about it. But I'll probably need a deadline. Because otherwise it'll be like everything else I do. 'Cause let's face it, I never finish anything. You know why I think that is? ADD. That's why I'm so bad at housework.

Julio: You want some of this burrito, hombre?

  1. Does the DVD have an option for Spanish audio? You should watch it with all the different audio options available at some point (if any other than English is offered). Or look it up online in different languages and watch it that way, then commentate.

  2. Julio, the Mexican burrito slinging guitarristo would have made the movie, cooking, and parallels far more believable.

  3. Yea I agree with Erin considering you are currently on Day 9. Also, maybe if there are extras on the DVD you could watch it with commentary among other options.
